Perspex Distribution continues to add rigid media
As ground-breaking technology with large format flatbed printers and ink continues to come into the market, the range of rigid media products has also needed to develop. Perspex Distribution is at the forefront of this market and is continually introducing exciting new products. Luke Martyn, Marketing Manager for Perspex Distribution, says, “We are the UK’s leading supplier of UK manufactured rigid substrates offering a unique range of options for large format printers.  We supply Alupanel, the only aluminium composite sheet produced in the UK, boasting sheets optimised for direct print, folding and fabrication and even panels for printed magnetic displays. We also stock UK manufactured Palight PVC foam and of course Perspex ®  acrylic.” He continues, “We have recently introduced a new range of products designed to enhance the output from large format direct printers. Our Alupanel aluminium composite range continues to evolve and we are now rolling out a new Alupanel A-Lite Digital Signal White colour point designed to offer an even brighter white surface for vibrant printing output.” Alupanel A-Lite Digital also features a 5005 aluminium alloy which provides a superior flatness to the sheet.   It is a double sided product offering versatile print on each side of the sheet.  “Ease of use within a print workshop is also
guaranteed with an improved easy peel film designed to reduce overall labour time and costs.  The masking is also anti-static so does not attract dust prior to printing and its low adhesion leaves no residue or ghosting,” adds Martyn. Investment in the environment Alupanel manufactures, Multipanel UK, which has also recently invested £3 million to build an onsite recycling centre at their
UK production facility in Dover. This facility enables them to redirect LDPE plastics from landfill to turn into pellets used within their sheets core.  The facility is capable of supplying up to 80% of their LPDE requirements. Luke Martyn says, “We have also recently introduced a new PVC foam range into our portfolio; Palight ®  Print Plus, our whitest ever PVC Foam sheet.  This sheet has been developed specifically for Perspex Distribution, Palight® Print Plus allows print professionals to get the best image quality and colour accuracy from their printers.” The product is manufactured by Palram in their north of England manufacturing facility.  The lightweight foamed substrate is ideal for varied projects including retail POS, exhibition stands and general signage.  Its bright white colour yields a wider colour gamut and accurate colour imaging, whilst the smooth and uniform surface serves as an ideal substrate for ink adhesion and coverage. “As with all PVC foam in their Palight® range, the resistance to chemicals and humidity makes the product suited for many applications once printed. UK manufactured substrates for print are not limited to those seeking a white surface to print on.  Perspex® cast acrylic and Palsun polycarbonate are both used to produce a high quality printed finish,” concludes Martyn
