CIM Signs & Graphics has installed its
sixth print machine, the Canon Océ
Colorado 1650 which it says will “speed up
workflow by four times the current rate”.
The Canon Océ is capable of printing
large format materials including banners,
bespoke wallpaper, large office graphics
and posters measuring up to 1.6 metres
wide, “at a significantly faster rate than
other printers”. Print can be finished in
matt or gloss without separate lamination
and the ink dries instantly, enabling the
prints to be worked on immediately. These
features enable CIM to increase productio
n
workflow as jobs can be progressed from
start to finish without downtime while they
dry in between processes. The ink used is
a gel which is more economical and better
for the environment.
CIM was awarded a £10,000 grant from
the New Anglia Local Enterprise
Partnership’s (LEP) Growing Business
Fund, which enabled the company to
purchase the new machine.
Managing director Mark Baker says:

printer which will enable us to further
improve the service and lead times for
customers. We pride ourselves on turning
jobs around fast so this machine will be a
big asset to our business. It’s very exciting
to be the first company in East Anglia to be
able to offer this kind of print and we can’t
wait to put the Canon Océ through its
paces."
In 2018 CIM installed a Rollsroller flatbed
applicator machine, two additional wide
format printers and a laminator.
The machines have helped to increase the
output of vinyls and digital prints for
materials including signs, exhibition panels
and point of sale and wide format print for
wallpaper and bespoke wall covering,
products which continue to grow in
popularity among CIM customers.
